INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE ELIMINATION OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE IN CONFLICT 2027

19 June 2027 | Stand Against Sexual Violence in Conflict

The International day for the elimination of sexual violence in conflict is observed annually on 19 June to raise awareness of the need to end conflict-related sexual violence, honor victims and survivors, and pay tribute to those who work to eradicate these crimes.

Sexual violence in conflict is a grave violation of human rights and dignity. Women, girls, men, and boys can be affected, often facing lasting physical, psychological, social, and economic consequences.

The International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict calls attention to the need to prevent these crimes, protect survivors, strengthen accountability, and support communities affected by conflict.

🕊️ Protect civilians from violence and exploitation.
🛡️ Prevent sexual violence before, during, and after conflict.
🤝 Ensure survivors have access to medical, psychosocial, legal, and social support.
⚖️ Strengthen accountability for perpetrators.
📢 Challenge stigma and support the dignity and rights of survivors.

Ending sexual violence in conflict requires sustained action, survivor-centred services, effective protection systems, and accountability.

Every person has the right to live with dignity, safety, and freedom from sexual violence, regardless of where they live or the circumstances they face.

Prevent violence. Protect survivors. Pursue justice. Build peace.
