People who are deafblind may experience combined hearing and vision loss, creating unique challenges in communication, education, mobility, access to information, healthcare, and participation in society. The International Day of Deafblindness is an opportunity to raise awareness, promote inclusion, and recognize the rights, abilities, and contributions of people who are deafblind. 💙 Promote accessible communication and information. 🤝 Create inclusive communities where everyone can participate. 📚 Support equal access to education and learning. 🏥 Ensure healthcare and essential services are accessible. 🦯 Improve mobility, assistive technology, and independent living opportunities. ⚖️ Protect the rights and dignity of people with disabilities. Inclusion is more than awareness. It means removing barriers and creating environments where everyone can learn, work, communicate, and participate with dignity. Let us build a society where disability does not limit opportunity and where every person is seen, heard, respected, and included. Accessibility is a right. Inclusion is everyone’s responsibility. 💙 #InternationalDayOfDeafblindness #DeafblindAwareness #Inclusion #Accessibility #DisabilityInclusion #EqualOpportunities #DisabilityRights #InclusiveCommunities #LeaveNoOneBehind #SHEADCentre July 2027 Wed 28 WORLD HEPATITIS DAY (WHO) July 28, 2027 🧡 World Hepatitis Day 2027 28 July 2027 | Know It. It provides essential nutrients, strengthens the baby’s immune system, supports healthy growth and development, and creates a special bond between mother and child. World Breastfeeding Week is an important opportunity to raise awareness about the vital role breastfeeding plays in the health, growth, and development of children, while also highlighting the support mothers need to breastfeed successfully. But breastfeeding should not be seen as the responsibility of mothers alone. Mothers need support. Families, healthcare workers, employers, communities, and policymakers all have a role to play in creating an environment where mothers can make informed decisions and breastfeed safely and confidently. Every breastfeeding mother deserves access to accurate information, quality maternal and child health services, and compassionate support. Healthcare workers can provide proper guidance on breastfeeding techniques and address challenges that mothers may experience. Families can support mothers by helping with household responsibilities and creating a comfortable environment for breastfeeding. Employers can contribute by providing breastfeeding-friendly workplaces and adequate maternity support. Communities can help by challenging stigma, misinformation, and harmful practices surrounding breastfeeding. 🌍 A Shared Responsibility Promoting breastfeeding is not only about encouraging mothers to breastfeed. It is about creating the conditions that make informed and safe breastfeeding possible. SHEAD Centre calls on communities, healthcare professionals, families, employers, policymakers, and development partners to continue supporting mothers and protecting the health and wellbeing of children. Let us promote accurate information. Let us support breastfeeding mothers. Let us strengthen maternal and child health services. Let us create breastfeeding-friendly communities. When mothers are supported, children have a stronger start in life. When children thrive, communities become healthier. This World Breastfeeding Week, let us stand together to protect, promote, and support breastfeeding for healthier mothers, healthier children, and healthier communities.
