World Hepatitis Day

World Hepatitis Day 2026
Theme: Hepatitis: Let’s Break It Down
Every year on July 28, the world comes together to raise awareness about viral hepatitis, a preventable and treatable disease that continues to affect millions of people globally.
This year’s theme, “Hepatitis: Let’s Break It Down,” calls on everyone to simplify the conversation around hepatitis by increasing awareness, breaking myths, reducing stigma, and encouraging early testing and treatment.
Why It Matters
Hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver, commonly caused by hepatitis viruses A, B, C, D, and E. If left undiagnosed or untreated, some forms can lead to serious liver diseases, including cirrhosis and liver cancer.
What You Can Do
- Learn the facts about hepatitis.
- Get tested if you are at risk.
- Get vaccinated against Hepatitis B.
- Practice safe health habits.
- Encourage others to seek screening and treatment.
At SHEAD Centre, we remain committed to promoting health education, disease prevention, and access to life saving information. Together, we can break down the barriers to hepatitis awareness and move closer to a future free from viral hepatitis.
Know it. Prevent it. Test for it. Treat it. Let’s break it down.
